Engineering Technician
The Engineering Technician supports production according to the needs of the company. The areas of expertise include but are not limited to: Robot Programming, PLC troubleshooting, Machine Recipe Management, Ignition Programming and Maintenance, and AGV system troubleshooting. This role reports to the Engineering Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow Lyons Mission and Principles
- Complete work orders to assist production
- Maintain equipment related to the primary assigned role
- Assist team members in their primary assigned roles
- Provide technical support and training
- Ensure high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area
Required Skills and Abilities
- Humble, hungry and emotionally intelligent
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Available to work overtime without notice
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- A solid understanding of basic engineering concepts
- Basic computer skills and a solid knowledge of mathematics
- Able to wear a ½ mask respirator or PAPR when required
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exemplify safe work practices and follow the company’s compliance standards
- Motivated self-starter
- Punctual and hard worker
Education and Experience
- 3+ years experience programming PLC’s, Fanuc Paint Robots, or Ignition
- 1 year experience using Lean Manufacturing Tools
- Knowledge of safe electrical practices
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing
- Prolonged periods sitting
- Able to sit, stand, stoop and/or kneel for long periods of time
- Some exposure to high noise levels and hazardous materials
